The Most ‘Grammable Spots In The Southwest

If you didn’t post on Instagram, did you really go on a holiday? Apart from being the perfect place for a weekend getaway or holiday, WA’s southwest is arguably one of the most beautiful corners of Australia. From natural formations to some of the most stunning vineyards you’ve ever seen, you’ll be guaranteed to find a gram worthy gem down south.

Even though there’s not really a right or wrong answer to the most ‘grammable location in WA’s southwest, sometimes these places can take a hot minute to find. And not to mention the fact that we’ve seen many of them before… So to save you some time and research, we have compiled what we think are the most ‘grammable locations in the southwest – we can’t wait to see them on your socials!

Figure: Boranup Forest

Boranup Forest

Less than a 30-minute drive south of Margaret River, the stunning Karri tress stand tall and proud, lining the sides of the roads. As you journey through the forest, you may come across Boranup Lookout, which is the ideal location to stop for a picnic or get the perfect shot for your socials.

Although being one of the most grammable locations in the southwest, make sure you take the time to switch off whilst you’re here, to truly take in the beauty of the nature around you. This forest really is something to behold.

Jewel Cave

Although one of many caves in the Margaret River region, the Jewel Cave is the biggest and by far the most grammable (we think!). Only a short 10-minute drive north of Augusta, along Caves Road, this natural wonder is something special. With three ginormous chambers, this cave is sure to impress with its array of delicate helectites, cave coral, and pendulites. Make sure to book in for a guided tour and have your camera at the ready!

Quinninup Falls

As winter approaches and the rain begins to fall, there is no better time to grab your coat and boots and head off to see the Quinninup Falls. Do note that it is a bit of a hike out to the falls, so make sure to bring plenty of water, and maybe even take a friend. Not far from Moses Rock (also gorg!), and part of the Cape to Cape track (if you can see the signs, you’re headed the right way), these wonderful winter falls a well worth the trek and will have your inbox filling with “OMG!”.

Golden Valley Tree Park

A little further from the Margaret River region, Golden Valley Tree Park is spread across 60 acres of pure bliss and is definitely a park not to be missed. A place of many moods and gorgeous in every season, this park is nestled in the sleepy town of Balingup and is the perfect place to stop and stretch your legs on the way south from the city. Whether you like to stick to the paths or make your own discoveries and explore off the track, the Golden Valley Tree Park will look great on your gram.

Kevill Road Falls

Also known as Yalgardup Falls, this gram worthy location has always been one of our go-to spots. We even have a holiday home just around the corner on Kevill Road! Easily accessible from Kevill Road East, these falls are a stunningly serene place. As the tannin-tanned water falls over the rocks, keep your eye out for kayakers who sometimes try their luck in the stream! Whether you’re chasing a quick snap, or would prefer to stop for a totally grammable picnic by the river, these falls will be sure to make it onto the holiday feed.

Figure: Hamelin Bay

Hamelin Bay

Just north-west of Augusta, Hamelin Bay has everything you need to glam your gram. No matter if your vibe is south-west chic or nurturing nature, this gorgeous location has something to please everyone. From the Hamelin Bay Wreck trail, filled with all the secrets of the seas, to the natural wonders of rare birds and stingrays, you’ll be sure to leave this cosy corner of the southwest your highlight reel filled.

Swings & Roundabouts

Nestled in Yallingup, Swings & Roundabouts is the perfect gram worthy venue for any time of year, but it is extra cosy in winter. A rustic gem, the cellar door and restaurant in Yallingup is a space filled with cosy corners, open fires and some of the best vineyard views you will find in the Southwest. What more could you want for the perfect gram pic than a woodfired pizza, a gorgeous glass of wine, with the most beautiful back drop?

Margaret River Bakery

Whether you want to dine-in or takeaway, there will definitely be a gram worthy goodie for you at the Margaret River bakery. With the most eclectic range of furniture and a quirky, iconic wall of plates, this will be the perfect place to glam your gram with something a little different. And not to mention that the crisp, golden tones of a freshly baked pie will always look fab next to a mug of steaming coffee and a holiday grin…

Figure: Margaret River Farmer’s Markets

Margaret River Farmer’s Markets

Never have you seen so many vibrant colours, experienced so many wonderful smells, or enjoyed such quality food in one place! Full of local produce, the Margaret River Farmers Market is your one stop shop for grammable food pics. Just imagine the picnic you could craft, down by the river, with seasonal fruit and veg, local meats, a baked good or two and maybe even a cheeky bottle of wine… Fresh food and fresh Instagram content – what more could you want?
